He kickstarted his acting career in 1986 appearing in That’s Life! taking the role of Steve Larwin. In 1987, he appeared in Wild Thing taking the role of Wild Thing as well as Made in Heaven taking the role of Orrin. In the following years, he appeared in a ton of films and TV series including D.O.A., Renegades, Arduous Moon, Young Guns II, Red Shoe Diaries, Doorways, Murder, She Wrote, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Presidio Med, among others.

From 2005 to 2009 and 2017, he appeared in the Fox drama series Prison Break taking the role of Theodore “T-Bag” Bagwell. After the end of Prison Break in 2009, he appeared in Heroes season 4 taking the role of villain Samuel Sullivan. In 2010, he appeared in Stargate Universe taking the role of Simeon, and also guest-starred in Criminal Minds taking the role of Rhett Walden, a serial killer. He also made an appearance in two episodes of Hawaii Five-0 as Rex Coughlin, a Honolulu Police Internal Affairs detective.

In 2011, he appeared in the A&E series Breakout Kings taking the role of T-Bag in one episode. In 2012, he appeared in My Way taking the role of Frank Sinatra a biopic of Claude François. Knepper took the role of Roger Reeves in the 2013 television series Cult but was canceled after season one. Still, in 2013, he appeared in R.I.P.D., Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters taking the role of Stanley Nawlicki as well as the TV series, The Blacklist. In 2015, he appeared in iZombie taking the role of Angus McDonough. He was also among the cast members of Twin Peaks taking the role of gangster Rodney Mitchum.

Theodore “T-Bag” Bagwell is a serial killer and rapist who is considered one of the most dangerous convicts who has escaped from prison numerous times. “T-Bag” is also a manipulative, violent, and cunning psychopath who will stop at nothing to get what he wants. In this film, he starred alongside Dominic Purcell, Wentworth Miller, Amaury Nolasco, Robin Tunney, Peter Stormare, and Marshall Allman.

Robert Knepper Sexual assault allegations

Knepper was accused of sexual assault on November 8, 2017, by costume designer Susan Bertram. According to Susan Bertram, Robert assaulted her in 1991 while on the set of the film Gas Food Lodging. Robert denied Susan Bertram’s allegations through a post he made on his Instagram account. On February 28, 2018, Bertram’s lawyers publicized that Susan was filing a defamation lawsuit against Robert seeking damages in a jury trial. However, Robert’s lawyers denied that he defamed Susan. On June 1, 2021, Susan’s lawyers publicized that the lawsuit had been settled but did not publicize the terms of their settlement.

Apart from Susan’s accusations of Robert, other women have also reported Robert for sexual assault and rape allegations on December 5, 2017, taking place between 1983 and 2013. This includes rape allegations in Vancouver in 2010 whereby Robert denied all the allegations. No evidence was found concerning misconduct transpiring on the set in all the allegations all the women made.

Robert appeared in the American supernatural procedural crime drama TV series, iZombie and took the role of Angus McDonough. Angus is Blaine’s abusive father whom he changed into a zombie. Angus and Blaine’s relationship is one of mutual disdain and Blaine despises Angus because of how Angus treated Blaine’s grandfather. Blaine’s grandfather always loved Blaine while Angus neglected his family as well as did nothing to prevent the suicide of Blaine’s mother, Angus’s wife.
