She joined the 6abc News team working as an Anchor for the 5 PM Newscast and as a Reporter for the Action News at 11. Her work is rooted in strong reporting, live from the scene, and in-studio.
Williams has also anchored on location from several Big Stories in Philadelphia which include the 2017 N.F.L. Draft, Pope Francis’ visit to the World Meeting of Families in 2015, and the 2016 Democratic National Convention. Asides from this, she has been privileged to travel the country and report from the first Presidential Debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.
This is in addition to covering the inauguration of President Donald Trump. Williams has also been honored to have the opportunity to interview legendary ABC News host Barbara Walters when she signed off the air for the last time.
Prior to moving to Philadelphia, she was working as a weekend anchor and weekday reporter for KTVT-TV in Dallas, Texas. When she was in Dallas, she covered major events which made national and international headlines. These include Texas’ record-breaking winter ice storms and Super Bowl XLV.
Previously, she has also spent about three years working in Miami covering a gamut of stories. These include traveling to Haiti in the wake of the four hurricanes of 2008, and later the 2010 earthquake and covering legal trials of the rich and famous.
Williams was also front and center when all eyes were on the Miami Heat, covering Shaquille O’Neal’s departure in the year 2008, and LeBron James’ much-anticipated decision to join the team in the year 2010. She has also previously worked for WVTM-TV in Birmingham, Alabama where she was serving the station as an Anchor/Reporter for the news and sports. Prior to this, she was working with WBBJ-TV in Jackson, Tennessee where she was serving as a News Anchor. She is a proud graduate of the University of Tennessee where she obtained an undergraduate degree in broadcast communications.
