Moreover, he has been the President of the Oregon Chapter of the American Meteorological Society since 2012. In addition to that, Steve is the owner of Northwest Weather Consultants (NWC) based out of Vancouver, Washington. Northwest Weather Consultants provides meteorological and climatological research. It also forecasts the weather for all clients across the Pacific Northwest. Pierce has personally designed and integrated a proprietary system that gives him the ability to quickly locate and manipulate weather data as far back as the 1800s with access to the most extensive set of historical weather records available.
Pierce has always loved a classic Portland/Vancouver metro area snowstorm. He says that there is no better place to live from the Pacific Ocean to the valley, through the Gorge, and into central and eastern Oregon. He considers himself a true weather geek and he is just fine with that label. During his leisure time, he likes vacationing at his family’s coastal cabin, traveling, skiing, and hiking, as well as spending time with his family.
