Asher suffered two health scares. In July 2017, she went to Urgent Care after believing she had food poisoning while she was vacationing up north. At the hospital, they confirmed her suspicions and she went on with her life. Little did she know, that the issue was bigger than they thought. Later, she was her doctor as she was running a fever. Her doctor sent her to the ER and it was discovered that she had internal bleeding resulting from a ruptured cyst.
2litres of her blood were in her abdomen and the doctors said that if she had visited later she would have passed away. Additionally, two blood transfusions were done and she underwent surgery. But, on Sunday after her release from the hospital, she noticed that her arm was swollen. She went back to the ER for fear of a blood clot.
The hospital confirmed that it was indeed a blood clot. However, additional tests uncovered that she had high troponin levels, suggesting something was wrong with her heart. After more tests were conducted, it was determined that she had pericarditis, an inflammation of the tissue around the heart resulting from a random virus. Further, she was attended to by doctors and nurses from Royal Oak Beaumont and Henry Ford in Detroit.
