At the age of 14 years, he remembers the sights and sounds of phones, typing, and printers, he then thought about how exciting and glamorous it would be to work inside a fast-paced newsroom.
Tedd got his first TV job at a small station in Yakima, Washington where he served as a reporter. After he was promoted to morning weather anchor where he covered some of the major storms in the Pacific Northwest. Florendo eventually moved on to Green Bay, Wisconsin where he chased EF-2 Tornadoes for WFRV, and stood in frigid weather to do live shots for the Weather Channel.
Florendo was hired by 8NewsNow in 2004 for his expertise and experience in forecasting severe storms and flash floods. Through that experience, it has helped save lives, forecasting dangerous summer monsoons. Later he earned his certification from Mississippi State and got a job at WCAU in Philadelphia in 2013 where he served as the weekend meteorologist.
He says it was definitely one of the hardest places in America to forecast and it also happened to be the worst winter in East Coast history. Forecasting Nor’easters, hurricanes, and ice storms definitely made him a better meteorologist. Tedd is now back in Las Vegas. It is his promise and commitment that their weather team will bring the most detailed and accurate forecasts so that people can be prepared for any weather, rain or shine.
