While working at the station, Weakley covered the historic November Storm in 2014 and the famous ‘carcicle’ in early 2016 where a car parked in a lot near the show was washed up by waves from Lake Erie. This left some inches of ice covering it and made national headlines. Before that, Weakley worked at WKBN-TV in Youngstown, Ohio as an evening anchor from September 2010 to August 2013

Collecting information on crimes overnight also gave Teresa insight into gang culture in Nashville and the police department which aided her gather an Emmy-nominated news special on the matter. Before that, Weakley worked as a production assistant intern at CNN in New York City from August 2004 to January 2005.
