Before that, Evans worked as a meteorologist and multimedia journalist at WETM-TV (NBC) in Elmira, New York from June 2019 to May 2021. Prior to that, he worked as a weather intern at WBKO in Bowling Green, Kentucky from December 2018 to January 2019. While working at the station, he made professional video reel footage and helped with graphics and weather forecasts. Before that, Evans worked at WAVE 3 News in Louisville, Kentucky from January 2018 to February 2018.
Evans was afraid of thunderstorm when he was a kid, but later turned the fear into a fascination. In 2009, an ice storm greatly affected his hometown and this made him want to become a meteorologist. While attending WKU, Evans was part of the WKU Storm Team where he was also its officer. He was also a member of WKU AMS/NWA Student Chapter. He was chosen to be a forecaster for White Squirrel Weather. This is a forecast that is tasked by the institution to provide advice for inclement weather and forecast for events. Evans got the opportunity at the Grammy-winning rock band, Cage the Elephant to forecast.
