Prior to joining the station, she worked at News 13 in Orlando, Florida as a meteorologist from June 2008 to May 2014. While working at the station, Turiano forecasted everything from floods and hurricanes to sunny skies. She experienced Tropical Storm Fay which beat up on the Sunshine State and dropped more than 3 feet of rain in some areas. Due to the severe weather that happens in Central Florida, her skills in forecasting improved tremendously. Before that, Turiano worked at WENY-TV in Elmira, New York as a morning meteorologist from July 2006 to May 2008.
During her time at WENY, she created forecasts and graphics daily and updated the website, and recorded radio forecasts. Prior to joining WENY, Turiano worked at WICU 12News in Erie, Pennsylvania as a meteorologist from August 2007 to January 2008. Before that, she worked as an intern at WFTS in Tampa, Florida. Turiano’s passion for weather began at age eleven when her family relocated to Tampa Bay, Florida from New York. Powerful thunderstorms rolled through every afternoon lighting up the sky. Lightning and towering clouds sprawled across the sky and all that fascinated her.
