Being born and raised in the Sunshine State, Amanda moved to three other states as a broadcast journalist. Previously before joining FOX 35, she worked at News 13 Orlando in Orlando, Florida Area where she served as the General Assignment Reporter and Fill-in-Anchor from June 2014 to 2016. While in the station she investigated community concerns and covered court cases.
Previously before moving to Central Florida, Amanda worked at Spectrum (formerly Time Warner Cable) in Greensboro/Winston-Salem, North Carolina Area where she served as a reporter and video journalist from March 2012 to May 2014. While in the station she was recognized by The Associated Press as one of the top reporters in the state. She also provided complete and continuous coverage of the John Edwards campaign finance trial from the federal courthouse.
Prior to moving to North Carolina, McKenzie worked at WAKA CBS 8 News in Montgomery, Alabama from January 2011 to January 2012 where she served the station as a reporter. While in the station she covered national stories, including the devastating tornadoes that ripped through the state, causing severe damage and hundreds of fatalities, and Alabama’s controversial law on illegal immigration.
Amanda completed internships at NBC’s ‘Today’ show in New York City and WCJB TV20 News in her hometown of Gainesville while in college. During her free time, McKenzie enjoys traveling, running, and playing with her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, named Rosy.
