Everett works at WCVB Channel 5  in Boston, Massachusetts, serving as a Weekday Evening Anchor/Reporter.  He joined WCVB Channel 5 in September 2005. Anthony has also served as co-anchor of NewsCenter 5 at 5, 5:30, 6, and 11 PM. He earlier served as co-anchor of the station’s Midday, 6 PM, and 11 PM weekend newscasts. Anthony has operated as WCVB’s senior correspondent for major national occasions and breaking news and has frequently contributed to special reports for all WCVB newscasts.

Anthony has taken leadership roles throughout his job at WCVB-TV. He has served as a principal negotiator and shop steward for the SAG-AFTRA bargaining unit at WCVB for 30 years. Anthony is a Hearst Certified Change Agent, a program that allows for creating understanding and tolerance around diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace. He was recently appointed as the leader of an internal Change Agent working group to support charting a path forward for the company on those initiatives.

Anthony started his tenure at WCVB’s NewsCenter 5 in 1990 serving as a general assignment reporter. Before joining Channel 5, he served as a general assignment reporter and weekday anchor on the 6 PM and 11 PM newscasts at WVIT-TV, the NBC affiliate in Hartford, CT. Anthony started his professional broadcasting profession in 1984 as a sports anchor and reporter at KSPN-TV in Aspen, Colorado. He afterward became KSPN’s news director and remained with the station until 1987.

Anthony’s commitment to charitable work has led to partnerships with organizations such as the National Multiple Sclerosis Society,  Boston Healthcare for the Homeless, the Boston Ballet, Habitat for Humanity, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the Home for Little Wanderers, the Atlantic Symphony Orchestra,  Derby Academy, and more.

Anthony graduated from Tufts University in Medford, MA. He now serves as a guest lecturer at Tufts in their Film and Media Studies Program. A one-time ski instructor, Anthony likes to spend his free time on the water and in the mountains with his family. He is an FAA-certified drone pilot and assisted in spearheading the Chronicle’s development of a drone program for aerial videography.

In 2015, Anthony obtained a first-place National Headliner award for Health and Science reporting. Also in 2010, The Improper Bostonian magazine voted Chronicle Boston’s Best Local TV Program.
