Hanson works for News 9 WAOW in Wausau, WI serving as Evening Anchor.  He joined the anchor desk of the 6 and 10 p.m. shows in August of 2021 though originally came to WAOW in 2018 as the Sports Director where he covered local prep sports, Bucks, Packers, Brewers, and Badgers over the past three years. Brad is so grateful and so excited to provide coverage of this wonderful area, he has called it home for the last three years.

His road has been an unconventional one, to say the least. A year and a half into his college career at the University of Minnesota, Brad ran out of money. So as a way to pay for the rest of his school, he joined the Marine Corps and consumed the next four years traveling the globe. In the Marines, Brad served as a broadcaster and was primarily stationed in Iwakuni, Japan. From there, he deployed to the Philippines, Afghanistan, and Australia.

After four years of service, Brad returned to school and graduated in May 2014. After a summer with the Minnesota Twins radio department as an intern, he accepted a job as a reporter for KWWL-TV out of Waterloo, Iowa. Brad served in charge of the Dubuque bureau for 3 and a half years, where he reported anything and everything going on in that community.

Though he was a general news guy then,  Brad also reported for the KWWL-TV sports department when needed. He was blessed with the opportunity to cover the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Pinstripe Bowl and Rose Bowl, as well as follow  Oklahoma City in the NCAA tournament and the UNI Panthers to Seattle. He also got the opportunity to cover local sports, including football every Friday night during the fall in Dubuque.
