Bryan comes to Southeastern Michigan from Indianapolis, Indiana where he served as a high school Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher, taking a brief break from being in front of the television camera presenting the forecast. He joined the 4Warn Weather Family in May 2022 as a freelance meteorologist to help the weather department prior to being promoted to a part-time meteorologist in March 2023. Before his promotion, Bryan operated on every daypart/newscast that WDIV offers, and also supplemented their extreme and winter weather coverage in the studio, out in the field as well as being a feature weather reporter providing forecasts and covering circumstances on the weekend mornings.
Initially from Cincinnati, OH, Bryan has spent time in Clarksburg, WV (twice), Hagerstown, MD, IL, Louisville, KY, Springfield, and Cincinnati, OH where he has covered numerous significant severe weather and snowstorms including Hurricane Sandy in 2012 with flooding rainfall and high winds on the Eastern Seaboard, and more lately the Dayton/Trotwood, OH EF-4 Tornado in 2019. Bryan has also operated on the Steering Committee for the Student Association, Inc. as well as the Human Rights Campaign-Cincinnati Chapter and Alumni Association Boards of Directors at the California University of Pennsylvania.
While also providing the forecast, Bryan also serves as a teacher. He has also spent a significant amount of time in the classroom at Lincoln Middle School in Shinnston, WV, as a Middle School Science Teacher and at Grant Middle School in Springfield, IL teaching 7th and 8th grades. He has also served as a Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher & FCCLA Chapter Adviser at South Dearborn High School in Aurora, IN, and Southport High School in Indianapolis, IN where he was honored with the Publicizing Your Performance State Award for his work. Bryan also obtained his American Meteorological Society Certified Teacher Seal (#32) for his effort in delivering science education to his students.
Presently, he serves on the Social Media Committee and the Diversity Committee as well as is a member of the National Weather Association, a member of the National Association of Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association in addition to the National Weather Association, and a member of the American Meteorological Society. When he is not on the news, Bryan enjoys spending his time touring new places, in addition to his favorite spot in Florida, along with spending time with his family and friends, and his boyfriend Johnathan.
