She was raised in Mobile, and graduated from Murphy High School, then from the University of South Alabama. While attending South, Cherish commenced working at WABB FM in 2001. She climbed the levels, and before long, she was the first female Morning Drive co-host at the legendary radio station, as a member of “Matt, Jay, and Cherish.” Cherish caught the attention of the News Director at a local TV station and began delivering traffic reports for the station before she was employed as a General Assignment Reporter in 2008. In 2010, she was promoted to the position of the first host of the station’s new entertainment and lifestyle show, Studio 10.
In 2014, Cherish took a chance and departed home to accept a job as an anchor in Nashville, Tennessee. While there, she was a member of some of the city’s biggest breaking news stories that made headlines nationwide, from the resignation of Nashville’s former Mayor to the capture of the Waffle House shooter. While there, Cherish led the WKRN team focused on the growing Nashville skyline. She field reported during CMA Fest and during the Nashville Predators’ Road to the Stanley Cup, where she worked with the Property Brothers, Hayley Orrantia, and Luke Bryan, to name a few. She also hosted the CMA Awards after-party live for the past two years, where she questioned some of the biggest names in the Country Music industry, including Garth Brooks, Little Big Town, Chris Stapleton, and Keith Urban.
Cherish has worked with countless charitable organizations, including many animal rescues, the March of Dimes, the American Cancer Society, Girl Scouts of America, Boy Scouts, Susan G Komen, Read Across America at various schools, the American Heart Association, and Prevent Child Abuse America.
