Christi also served as the weekend anchor for CNN’s New Day for nine years. While there, she covered President Obama’s 2nd Inauguration in Washington, DC, the GOP Convention in 2016 in Cleveland, and was on the news desk walking viewers through the first 5 hours of the Virginia Tech shooting and the Newtown, CT school shootings.  Christi also covered extensive coverage of several presidential elections, Hurricane Sandy, and court cases such as the Casey Anthony, Drew Peterson, Warren Jeffs, and Dr. Conrad Murray trials. She also secured an exclusive interview with Joe Biden, the Vice President, talking about his incentive to combat domestic violence as well as addressing the problems with Obamacare.

Besides being an anchor, Christi has a love for helping children and teens. She operated on the Advisory Board for Robin McGraw’s “When Georgia Smiled” foundation which assists victims of domestic violence and assault to find safety, healing, and joy. She also acted on the National Advisory Council for the One Love Foundation in recognition of Yeardley Love, the University of VA Lacrosse participant beaten to death by her boyfriend, and is engaged with Girl Talk Inc., an institution where high school girls mentor middle school girls to aid build self-esteem and combat bullying.

Weary of simply having to inform viewers of news stories about children who are missing, Christi took steps to help, founding “Find Our Children”… a collaboration with The National Center for Missing and Exploited Kids in Washington, DC. HLN hosted a segment about a missing kid, asking viewers to assist find them and to date, 35 of the kids they’ve profiled have been brought home safe and sound. In 2012 NCMEC recognized Christi with their prestigious Hope Award…an award she shares with past winners such as actor Ben Affleck, former Secretary of State Colin Powell, and then-Senator Joe Biden.

Christi is also an author whose book “Love Isn’t Supposed to Hurt”, speaks about overcoming verbal and emotional abuse, which immediately hit Amazon’s top 20. She also videoed two songs in Nashville that coincide with the book. Christi also has performed onstage along with Grammy winners David Foster and Richard Marx as well as singing the National Anthem for NBA and MLB games for the Atlanta Braves, the Cleveland Guardians, the Arizona Diamondbacks, and the Cleveland Cavs among others.

Before working at HLN in 2003, Christi served as an anchor, weathercaster, and consumer reporter in Phoenix. She first joined KNXV, then CNN affiliate KTVK, where she began a segment with the Arizona Humane Society which helped hundreds of dumped animals find new homes with families in the valley. Before transferring to Phoenix, Christi served as an anchor and reporter for KTVB in Boise, ID, where the Idaho Press Club recognized her for her series of stories regarding Julianne Prudhomme, a 4-year-old girl who underwent a 5-organ transplant.

Christi began her journalism career as a one-man band (anchor reporter and photographer) in Clarksburg, WV at WDTV.
