Prior to joining KTNV, she worked at WFTX FOX 4, Florida, fort Myers as a morning meteorologist where she spent her time focusing on hurricanes at Scripps sister station. She also got plenty of experience in both severe weather and tropical meteorology.
In addition to that, Beckstrom took part in keeping southwest Florida safe and well-informed during hurricane Ima on Marco in September 2017.
