Moreover, he also received the Viewers Choice Award for Best Meteorologist from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Aside from that, David has also been recognized as an Emmy and Katie Award finalist for his work as a documentary host. Both in 2006 and 2007, Finfrock won an Emmy for “Tracking Texas Weather,” a weather special, and another for his work on NBC 5’s 65th Anniversary special.
In what has now been more than 40 years of on-air work, he was also honored with a “Silver Circle” Emmy award for career accomplishment. David is a professional member of the American Meteorology Society and serves on the Advisory Board of the University of Texas Arlington’s Center. For Greater Southwestern Studies, as well as the Board of the Audubon Society’s Dogwood Canyon Preserve in Cedar Hill. He’s also a Habitat for Humanity volunteer and has been delivering Meals on Wheels for over 15 years. Moreover, he is a passionate nature conservationist and enjoys participating in walks and runs for various philanthropic organizations.
