David’s passion for television sparked at an early age. He wanted a career in television since the fourth grade. David went from being very afraid of storms to track them. He was motivated by a deep love for weather and took advantage of an on-camera experience received via a position as his high school’s first weatherman.
En route to CBS 42, Dave interned in his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at WPXI-TV. It was not long before he was appointed the morning meteorologist at WSEE-TV in Erie, Pennsylvania. Then made the transition to South Louisiana and was appointed the morning and noon meteorologist at WBRZ-TV in Baton Rouge for 10 years. There, he earned Best Weathercast by the Louisiana Associated Press in 2008. In 2014, Dave made the trek down Interstate ten to New Orleans where he worked as the morning meteorologist at WWL-TV for nearly 7 years. He was rewarded Best Weathercast again in 2015. Needless to say, Dave forecasted some of South Louisiana’s worst hurricanes from Katrina to Gustav and the crazy 2020 hurricane season.
Dave has received the prestigious “Seal of Approval” from the American Meteorological Society. He is part of the National Weather Association, and American Meteorological Society, and an Eagle Scout.
