She states that his ideal scenario for a day off is doing something adventurous and states that it is rare to find her resting on his days off. Kupfer also enjoys spending time outdoors, kayaking, skiing, wake surfing, mountain biking, Hiking, and traveling. She also enjoys spending time with her two French bulldogs, Brewski and Barley.
She says that she made a decision to become a reporter/anchor after his grandfather survived the Holocaust. When she was a teenager, she was forced by her grandfather from his home in Poland during the German Invasion in 1939. Dina states that most of his grandpa’s family perished in Nazil labor camps but he refused to die. He then vowed to stay alive to ensure his story was not silenced.
Later on, he wrote a book about his journey, a conversation he didn’t feel comfortable having with even his own children for decades. She states that he was her inspiration for wanting to be a journalist and making sure every important narrative is reported on and no one’s story is ever muted.
She states that her favorite local place to eat is Vacaville, and loves going to Rice Barn Thai Eatery, a locally-owned Thai restaurant. His favorite dish is beef drunken man noodles. Dina states that while growing up, her favorite toy was a jump rope, and skipped it.
Kupfer states that her favorite social media platform depends on what she is using it for. She uses her Twitter account to stay current on her reporting and to share breaking news stories. However, she likes Instagram for her personal life and one can watch all her adventures and photos of her pups on her Instagram Account.
She states that if she was not working on the news, she would be working as a teacher. While growing up, she used to play school and her mother has photos of her with all stuffed animals lined up with encyclopedia books as “desks” and used to talk to them and grade the papers she wrote. Her favorite season happens to be winter and states that she could ski every day.
When Dina is on morning duty, her alarm rings at 2:30 AM and she snoozes it till 2:45 AM. She states that she splits her sleep and takes a long nap when she gets home from work at around 2 PM. Kupfer states that she tries to go back to a “normal” schedule on the weekends but often falls asleep standing by around 8 PM.
Dina states that the reason she loves Northern California is that she would love all the wonderful outdoor activities NorCal has to offer. She states that a place she would go skiing and jump in is Lake Tahoe. Her husband and she have taken full advantage of the trails, beaches, mountains, and lakes and they certainly don’t take any of it for granted. They intend to stay there for a very, very long time.
Her best vacation place is New Zealand and states that her hubs have spent two weeks in NZ for their honeymoon. They rented a camper van and did a loop of the south island. Together, they hiked to the glacier, went heli-skiing(helicopter skiing), abseiled(like rappelling but below ground into a cave), and also had so much fun trotting through eating meat pies, drinking the local wine, and sheep farms. She states that her favorite sport to watch in person on TV is college football and is a proud graduate of the University of Oregon Duck. Kupfer states that she will be representing her team for life.
