He also spent thirteen days in and around New Orleans covering the devastating floods and the hurricane’s arrival that followed. Fred provided live reports to stations and Louisiana throughout the country.
He began his profession in Wichita Falls, Texas in 1998, working as a reporter and weekend anchor for the CBS affiliate, KAUZ TV. In the 90s Fred enrolled at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville Texas, where he studied broadcast journalism. It was there he found his love for television news when he got hands-on experience reporting for the school’s news show on Cable Channel 7. Fred would finally become the station manager.
