Medwick has covered a lot of impactful tropical systems in eastern Carolina inclusive of four in-market hurricane landfalls namely; Florence, Irene, Isaias, and Ophelia. Additionally, he stated that between tornadoes, winter storms, and hurricanes, he has seen a lot of places and good people hit hard. He added that he appreciates the mellow sea breeze and the warm sun knowing how tough things can get.
Besides that, in the community, Medwick is very supportive of science and math education and is a volunteer at the North Carolina Science Olympiad. One of his favorite parts of his job is showcasing local four-legged friends as part of his everyday dog walking forecast as he loves pets, dogs in particular.
