Jacob also has endorsements to teach secondary science and mathematics. As a graduate student, he was a part of the local chapter of the National Weather Association and the American Meteorological Society, and he was active with Cru at Mississippi State. Jacob also was involved in the local FFA Alumni in Starkville, Mississippi, and acted as Keynote Speaker at the 2018 Mississippi FFA State Convention.
Prior to arriving home to WCIA 3 News, he served as a weekend and field meteorologist for WCBI-tv in Columbus, Mississippi for three years until February 2020. He then was appointed the acting Chief Meteorologist for KSWO 7 News in Southwest Oklahoma prior to coming home to Central Illinois. While at WCBI, Jacob was involved in growing the station’s presence online and on social media, concentrating on severe weather awareness and preparation.
