Jason Beghe is an American Actor best known for his appearance in the NBC television series Chicago P.D. as Sergeant Hank Voight. He has also appeared in films such as Monkey Shines, Thelma & Louise, and in the television series To Have & to Hold. He is a former Scientologist who started taking classes in Scientology in 1994. Beghe later appeared in an adverting campaign of Church in Scientology and also in promotional videos. He left the church in 2007 and has criticized Scientology publicly since then.

Before his acting career, Beghe was a model in Europe. His first appearance in acting, was in the film, Compromising Positions in 1985, starring Susan Sarandon. His first role in television was in the comedy series 1st & Ten where he starred alongside Sam J. Jones and O.J. Simpson. Beghe starred as Allan Mann in the film Monkey Shines: An Experiment In Fear in 1988, which was directed by George A. Romero. A positive review was given by The Philadelphia Inquirer for his performance in Monkey Shines where he acted with his face and voice only. David Foil, an actor on The Advocate, said Beghe’s Performance was remarkable simply because he met the demands of the character.

He played in the role of an ice hockey star in the television film The Case of the All-Star Assassin in 1989. Beghe also played in the film Thelma & Louise as State Trooper in 1991, and in 1997, he played as Demi Moore’s love interest in the film G.I. Jane. He had recurring roles on Melrose Place and Picket Fences, then he played the role Danny Blaines in Chicago Hope in 1997. In an interview in The Boston Herald, he talked about his respect for his colleagues in Chicago Hope and said that he thinks it is the best cast assembled that he has ever seen and they are incredible. He also added that working with Christine Lahti has made him a better actor as she is good, smart, and dedicated.

In 1988, Beghe co-starred as police officer Sean McGrail alongside Moira Kelly in the television drama series To Have & to Hold. From Detroit Free Press, Mike Duffy wrote that there was an affectionate romantic sizzle between handsome Beghe (“G.I. Jane”) and the unconventionally attractive Kelly (“Little Odessa”). Kinney Littlefield from Orange County Register said that Kelly and Beghe have charm. Beghe appeared on  CSI: NY, Numb3rs, Criminal Minds, Everwood, Cane, and Veronica Mars. He also played the role exorcist Ray Purvis in the Horror film One Missed Call in the year 2008.

In 2009, he guest-starred on the TV show Californication where he portrayed novelist Richard Bates. In the same year, Beghe went to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to film The Next Three Days which was directed by Paul Haggis and released in 2010. It was reported on 21st November 2017 by Deadline Hollywood, that he was investigated for a possibly sexual harassment and an overly aggressive behavior, while filming Chicago P.D. in 2016. Reports were made by his former co-star, Sophia Bush, claiming he had inappropriate behavior. Beghe released a statement acknowledging he had anger problems but he said he was working on them.
