He is also known for having played in Major League Baseball for Chicago White Sox (in the year 2016), Los Angeles Dodgers (the year 2015), and the Philadelphia Phillies (from 2000 to 2014).

Rollins was drafted by the Phillies in the 2nd round of the MLB draft of the year 1996. After spending 5 seasons in the minors, he debuted in the majors on September 17, 2000. Rollins quickly became known for his excellent defense as a shortstop and took on the role of the Phillies’ leadoff hitter in the year 2001 – this is a position he held for almost 10 years. He made 3 All-Star appearances and set a team record with a 38-game hitting streak spanning from the year 2005 to the year 2006. In the year 2007, he won the National League MVP award – and in the year 2008 he helped the Phillies win the World Series.

Throughout his career, Rollins led the National League in triples 4 times and once in runs, stolen base percentage, and stolen bases. He holds numerous Phillies’ career records like at hits, bats, doubles, and power-speed number. Rollins won a Silver Slugger Award, 4 Gold Glove Awards, and a Roberto Clemente Award during his career.
