Bachman has also been lucky to enclose some major stories that hit the headlines all over America. For instance, he traveled to Los Angeles so that he could investigate how their similarly written law worked prior to Florida voting on Amendment 2, medical marijuana. He then went to Wisconsin, where crews are building Littoral Combat Ships headed for homeport in Jacksonville starting in 2016.
Bachman grew up in a newsroom with his dad and being a journalist was not what he wanted to pursue as a lifetime career. He loved the heat and everything that took place in the newsroom but he was still not sure about being a journalist. He wanted to become a doctor someday and at the time he was planning to go to med school, he was offered a chance to get into TV.
Bachman also covered the unfinished USS Little Rock the first ship and had a conversation with Mayport business owners. He loves raising his family in Jacksonville and is so happy and glad to call Jacksonville home. Bachman is also part of the Make-A-Wish Advisory Committee for NE Florida as well as on the board of Day 1 media ministry.
