Moore works at WWL-TV in New Orleans, the CBS affiliate in New Orleans, as an investigative reporter and Evening News Anchor at 5 & 10 p.m. She joined WWL-TV in September 2006. Katie commenced her journalism profession as a Washington Correspondent for WKYT-TV in Lexington, Kentucky. Then she served as a fill-in anchor and political reporter at KOAA-TV in Colorado Springs, Colorado for over six years.

Upon bringing home a national Walter Cronkite Award in Television Political Journalism for Individual Achievement, Katie returned to her New Orleans roots for a career at WWL-TV in 2006. Throughout her profession, her work has made change, exposed corruption, and enlightened voters.

Katie took home three Emmy awards in 2017, including documentary and on-air skills for her investigative news special “Searching for Ramona Brown”. She also earned a statue for coverage of the Cajun Navy’s efforts to rescue individuals stranded in the Great Flood of 2016 outside Baton Rouge.

Katie spent much of her girlhood in Slidell and is a proud graduate of Northshore High School, Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism in Chicago, and Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. In 2008, Katie was honored with a Jim Metcalf Memorial Award for the story of the year at the New Orleans Press Club Awards and earned an Emmy Nomination and Best Investigative Report from the Louisiana Associated Press for her investigation into double billing for prisoners at Orleans Parish Prison. Katie also earned the Best Feature award from the New Orleans Press Club in 2009 for her coverage of the dolphins who found a new home in the Bahamas after Hurricane Katrina.
