Before, Kenley worked at KSLA News 12 in Shreveport, Louisiana as a Weekend Anchor/Reporter for three years. During that time, he was awarded an Emmy nomination for his reporting. Additionally, after high school, he continued his path at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Ga. There, he became an Executive Producer at Morehouse College Tiger TV.
During that time, he earned several prestigious summer internships that further developed his passion for the Broadcast Journalism field. NBC Nightly News in New York, NY, 11Alive WXIA Atlanta, and Louisville Metro TV were rewarding internship experiences that allowed him to work with some of the best journalists in the world. Traveling across the five boroughs of New York City and reporting stories was a constant adventure he will never forget. Moreover, after graduate school, Hargett returned to Atlanta and worked at CAU-TV, where he hosted the show “Common Sense”.
The show was one of the top programs at the station. He also taught students Intro to Journalism through the Clark Atlanta University Newsbreak program. After working at CAU-TV, Texas called his name and he worked as a Multimedia Journalist/Anchor for KYTX CBS 19 in Tyler. He reported throughout East Texas for two years. During his leisure time, Kenley enjoys trying new restaurants, gaming, reading investment journals, and traveling. He is a member of NABJ (National Association of Black Journalists) and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated.
