Prior to her senior year, she worked her way up to Multimedia Journalist and Weekend Anchor.
After working for two years at News 15, Leigha relocated to Waco, Texas where she served as the Weekend Anchor and a Multimedia Journalist. During her time in Waco, she reported on countless stories on Ft. Hood, the largest military installation in the country, including the killing of Vanessa Guillen.
She also assisted in creating the Emmy-nominated Black History Month special named “Uncovering Our History”. The 30-minute special emphasized the untold stories of the society and shined a light on the path ahead toward understanding and healing from the racial divide in the Central Texas community. After her time in Waco, Leigha knew it was time to come home. As a New Orleans native, she is so glad and honored to work alongside the news team she grew up watching.
Leigha is part of the National Association of Black Journalists and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated. When she is not reporting, you will most likely catch her shopping, dancing, painting, or spending time with her family. She also loves traveling with her fiancé and fur babies, Lucci and Leo.
