As a child, Lucy was terrified of tornadoes and thunder. Once she commenced visiting the local library and discovering books about clouds, her anxiety turned into fascination and wonder. Fun fact: Lucy earned a contest when she was six for being able to name all the clouds in the sky. The prize was having the local Television station meteorologist come and do the weather prediction from her backyard!
Lucy is currently looking forward to sharing her passion and knowledge to help keep her community safe and informed during severe weather. She was actively engaged in her sorority, Sigma Kappa, and her honors fraternity, Phi Sigma Pi. Lucy also served as a weekend weather forecaster at the local NBC affiliate. During her moment in Monroe, she was an active volunteer with the United Way of Northeast Louisiana and the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Lucy also serves as a sustainability advocate and is trying to reduce her carbon footprint one veggie burger at a time. When not at work, Lucy loves hiking, biking, kayaking, camping, reading, and hanging out with her cat, Mongojerry, and her dog, Gertie.
