In 2006, he joined Penn State University where he attained his Bachelor’s Degree in Meteorology in 2010. Devitt serves as the Chief Meteorologist at WINK-TV based in Fort Myers, Florida. Upon joining WINK-TV, he started off by serving as a morning meteorologist till March 2021. Prior to working at WINK-TV, he worked at WSAV-TV based in Savannah, Georgia where he served as a meteorologist from July 2012 to February 2016.
Previously, from March 2011 to March 2012, he worked at KHBS/KHOG based in Rogers Arkansas where he served as a meteorologist. He had previously spent 10 months working at KTEN-TV based in Denison, Texas where he served as a meteorologist from June 2010 to March 2011. He is also an active volunteer in his community and was part of the research team of the National Science Foundation from May 2009 to July 2009.
Since he started his journalism career, he has covered several extreme weather events including Hurricane Ian in 2022 and Hurricane Irma in 2017. He is also the head of The Weather Authority. Moreover, he is an active member of the National Weather Association and the American Meteorological Society.
