Before that, he worked at WWBT NBC12  where he served as a sports anchor. Moreover, he also, filled in as a news anchor for the 4 pm, 5:30 pm, and 11 pm newscasts. While at the station Lincoln, led a two-man sports department anchored the weekday newscasts, and created 1-2 packages a week for rated newscasts in Central Virginia. In addition to that, he was also in charge of outlining sports plans to the news department on a daily basis. Reported remotely from games and events, sometimes without the aid of a photographer.

Previously, Matt served as a News Anchor at CW Richmond from September 2011 to December 2012. He has also served as Radio Host – The Golf Guys at ESPN Radio, and The Team – Cumulus Myrtle Beach from March  2008 to  October 2010.  While at the station, Matt hosted a weekly two-hour golf talk radio show. He came to the station from Coastline Sports Media where he served as a Radio Host, at The Press Box for 3 years.

Before that, he served as a Weekend Sports Anchor/Reporter at KTVE/KARD TV. While at the station he anchored and produced weekend sportscasts and half-hour sports shows. Matt became a sales executive for The Radio People for about eight months where he sold sponsorship for sports and other programming.

Aside from that, he worked as a Script Producer on HillTV from September 2000 to August 2004. He anchored, reported, and produced a highlight-driven show based on Syracuse University athletics. Moreover, Matt went to Syracuse University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science.
