At KVEW, he anchored for about a year prior to becoming the main weather anchor. He anchored and produced the weathercasts for the 5, 6, and 11 for both stations, but was based out of the Tri-Cities. Nicke also hosted Ultimate Yard Makeovers, and Muscular Dystrophy Association Telethons, and covered live from Detroit the week leading up to Super Bowl XL and during the game.
