During his first two years at Michigan State University, he was on the air at the ABC and CBS stations in Lansing, Mich. Then he got employed in Flint, Mich where he anchored news and weather for four years.
In New Orleans, he worked at NBC for seven years. After 24 hurricanes including Katrina, he moved to Detroit in ‘09 where an economic storm was brewing. During the 2020 elections, FOX 2 led the way bringing more exclusives than any other station in town. Additionally, he is a keynote speaker and a public speaking coach. When his not working, he enjoys reading, traveling, and cooking.
Raj nailed one-on-one interviews with then-candidate Joe Biden, secured three, one-on-one exclusives with former President Trump, and finally interviewed Rose Garden with a one-on-one with Trump for 15 minutes at the White House. He decided to call the White House and ask if former VP Pence would be game for a phone interview, after getting access to candidate Kamala Harris in Detroit.
