Roesgen works at WGNO ABC26 as News Anchor/Reporter. She co-hosts the 5, 6, and 10 pm broadcasts. A reporter and anchor with national and international experience, Susan has gone on assignment with the U.S. Army in Haiti,  sailed on the Sea of Galilee in Israel, and bartered for a camel in Cairo.

In 2001, she was the co-host of “National Geographic Today,” a news and cultural affairs tv program broadcast internationally from National Geographic headquarters in Washington, D.C. Her reporting consisted of a report on the raising of a Civil War submarine in Charleston, a multi-part series in Egypt featuring Egyptian archaeologist Zahi Hawass and in-depth interviews with Jane Goodall, world-renowned conservationist and Bob Ballard, who discovered the Titanic.

Returning to New Orleans in 2002, Susan accepted a job at public radio station WWNO and became a freelance reporter for NPR’s “Morning Edition,” “All Things Considered,” and other NPR programs. In 2003, she commenced anchoring and reporting part-time for WGNO-TV.

Susan’s reporting for NPR and WGNO during Hurricane Katrina made CNN employ her as the first Correspondent for the network’s Gulf Coast Bureau, which debuted in New Orleans in 2005. After two years of covering the recovery effort across the Gulf, she was appointed as CNN Correspondent based in Chicago in 2007. Her coverage of stories for CNN consisted of all other CNN programs and daily live shots for “Anderson Cooper 360.” After leaving CNN in 2009, Susan started part-time reporting and anchoring again for WGNO-tv in 2020 while pursuing her Master’s at Loyola University in New Orleans.
