Prior to WVUA, he worked for WTOK-TV in Meridian, MS as a Chief Meteorologist. With more than twenty years of experience, he has covered some of the most important severe weather events in Alabama’s history.
Wyatt will tell you that sharing his love for the weather is one thing he enjoys most. Throughout his profession, he has spoken to various organizations and visited schools throughout the state. He has also assisted mentor countless successful meteorologists in the weather business today. Wyatt remembers events like the 1993’s Blizzard are the reason he’s a meteorologist today. He has the Seal of Approval from the National Weather Association and the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Seal from the American Meteorological Society. Wyatt is also a busy member of both organizations. As part of the National Weather Association Seal Committee, he partakes in evaluating meteorologists all over the nation.
One of his proudest accomplishments is an honorary resolution from the State of Alabama for his extreme weather coverage in West Alabama. Wyatt was also called the best weather anchor by the Associated Press in 2015, 2009, 2008, 2005, and 2003.
In his free time, you may find him playing the guitar. He tells his passion for music comes from his mother who was a talented musician and singer. He also enjoys gardening, the great outdoors, and football Saturdays in the fall. Additionally, you can hear his forecast on I-Heart Radio stations all over West, Central, and East Alabama
