Previously he worked as a weekend anchor for KRIS-TV in Corpus Christi and was the first broadcaster to cover Vice President Dick Cheney’s accidental shooting of a friend during a hunting trip at the historic Armstrong Ranch, even before the White House press corps.
In 2005, he moved to Beaumont where he reported on the aftermath of Hurricane Rita and broadcast live from Ford Park to his loyal Corpus Christi viewers. Prior to KRIS-TV worked as an anchor and reporter at KBTX-TV in Bryan/College Station. While in the station from 2000 to 2003, Drawhorn covered several important stories in Montgomery and Walker countries, where he covered as an official witness to two executions to the criminal justice system in Huntsville.
In 2003 he hosted live breaking news coverage of the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster. In 1999 he was a public radio foreign correspondent based in London. Aaron also hosted public affairs shows on radio and television in San Antonio. Aaron interviewed several notable foreign dignitaries, including Former South African President F.W de Klerk, Former British Prime Minister John Major, and former Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres.
