Before his promotion as a meteorologist in July 2008 at Sinclair Broadcast Group in Beaumont, Port Arthur, TX, Chad worked as the Chief meteorologist for the CBS and FOX affiliates in Sioux City, Iowa Area since June 2007. He was responsible for the staffing, scheduling, and on-air content.
Prior to that Chad served as a morning and noon meteorologist at KGBT from 1999 to 2007. From 1997 to 1999 he worked at KBTV where he served the station as the weekend meteorologist. Previously before joining KBTV, Sandwell worked at KLAX-TV from November to April 1997 where he served as the chief meteorologist. He was responsible for weather forecasts, graphics preparations, upkeep, and maintenance of the weather system.
From 1994 to 1995 Sandwell worked at KTKA Topeka, Kansas Area where he served the station as a meteorological intern. He assisted the chief meteorologist in forecast and graphics preparations. Chad also served as a meteorological intern at WEHT-TV in Evansville, Indiana Area in 1992. He was the Summer intern and assisted the chief meteorologist in forecast and graphics preparation and also monitored overnight severe weather situations.
