Therefore in high school, Alison was on the surf and basketball teams. She began her career as a general assignment reporter for FOX21/KXRM in Colorado Springs. Within a few months, Mastrangelo was promoted as the sports director and anchor.
Alison covered Super Bowls 50 and 51 and helped develop the sports department, while in FOX21/KXRM. Mastrangelo then moved up to Denver7/KMGH and covered the Rockies, Nuggets, Avalanche, Broncos, and the local college teams. Some of Alison’s highlights include interviewing Colorado native and Olympic gold medalist Mikaela Shiffrin, and covering the Rockies and Avalanche playoff runs.
Mastrangelo was nominated for the Emmy awards as the sports anchor and she won for best sportscaster in the non-metro market, Colorado Broadcasters Association Award in 2016. Alison is excited to cover all of the Georgia high school, professional, college, and sports teams. During her free time, she enjoys exploring the Beltline with her dog, Rocky, trying different fitness and yoga classes, running, and exploring what Atlanta has to offer.
