Altieri knew he would finally relocate to Colorado because of the unique challenges that come with predicting Front Range weather. He spent his childhood growing up in Michigan where he Tracks and also became an Eagle Scout and also competed at the state level in Cross Country.
Altieri still engages in scouting and gives credits his passion for weather to achieving the weather merit badge when he was at the age of 12. His most memorable moment was while on a camping trip and encountered a nearby tornado the same year sealed his interest in the subject. Being an outgoing person, Altieri loves hiking, playing sand volleyball, skiing, and running, and his all-time favorite; is snowboarding!
