He worked with this station from Jan 2003 – May 31, 2023. Bob arrived at WCVB, Boston’s News Leader, in 2003 as a freelance reporter anchor and became a full-time anchor/reporter position in 2014.
Before joining Channel 5, Halloran’s broadcast profession included stops at WFXT in Boston, ESPN, and WPRI in Providence, RI. At ESPN, he served for three years as an anchor and writer for ESPN.com. While at WFXT, Halloran worked for three years as a weekend sports anchor. He also worked for five years at WPRI, two of those as Sports Director, and he spent four years at WCVX in Hyannis, MA first as Sports Director then becoming News Director. Halloran started his profession at “Cape 11 Alive” in South Yarmouth, MA where he commenced as a photographer and later was appointed as a news reporter, anchor, and then News Director.

Other books he has written include “Impact Statement: A Family’s Fight for Justice Against Whitey Bulger, “Breakdown,” Stephen Flemmi and the FBI,” and “Destiny Derailed;” and all the proceeds from his book, “The Fellowship of the No Longer Miserable,” go to the Jimmy Fund.
Halloran has earned five Boston/New England Emmy Awards for sportscasting, and two awards from the Associated Press. He has operated for ten years on the board for Hearth, a helping organization determined to end elder homelessness. Halloran graduated from Washington & Lee University and lives in the Boston area.
