Later on, after excelling at UGA, he was selected in the 7th Round of the NFL Draft by the hometown Atlanta Falcons. This was during his time at Flowery Branch where he got his first taste of broadcasting as he hosted his own show interviewing teammates and coaches.
Shockley has had numerous roles on TV and radio and recently worked as a color commentator for football broadcasts with ESPN and the SEC Network, and co-hosting Early Birds on FOX 5. Asides from this, he enjoys hanging out with his family, searching for the best golf courses to play in the metro area, and vacationing.
