Garcia anchors CBS4 This Morning and CBS4 News at Noon on weekdays from 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. He began his broadcasting career at KOAT, the ABC affiliate in Albuquerque, New Mexico. For three years he covered the entire state in the Land of Enchantment. Snow storms, crime, courts… he reported all. He began his first stint at CBS4 after his time in New Mexico. During his past 3 years in Colorado, he reported some of the biggest stories to hit the state. He reported live from the suspect’s booby-trapped house on the day of the Aurora theater shooting as police made their way in.

Garcia reported on the Waldo Canyon Fire that scorched over 18,000 acres, took the lives of two people, and destroyed hundreds of homes. On a lighter note, in 2011 he was also thrust into the Tim Tebow mania and flew out to Boston to report the Broncos in their playoff game against the Patriots. Garcia worked on a documentary about the 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbor and won an Emmy for it before his return to CBS4. In 2018 was when he returned to CBS 4 and then traveled to cover the commissioning of the USS Colorado submarine.

His reporting highlighted local Colorado sailors serving onboard and the history of previous USS Colorado vessels also won an Emmy. He loves skiing, golf, and history. His parents and grandfather Luis Garcia, a WWII Veteran are his role models. Moving to California while his wife finished her medical residency.

Turned out to be a great experience but was the biggest risk he’s ever taken. What keeps him in Colorado is Family, mountains, skiing, hiking, sports, golf, and the list goes on and on and on. His favorite music is John Mayer, Dave Matthews Band, Earth Wind & Fire, and Tupac. Europe, Germany, and Austria are his favorite vacation spot.

Golf course architect is his dream job. His first story was about when he worked in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and interviewed the family of a fallen soldier Army Pfc. Henry G. Byrd III died after collapsing while on patrol in Iraq. Denver Broncos and Colorado Avalanche are his favorite sports team and David McCullough’s “1776” is his favorite author.
