Harding works at WCVB Channel 5  in Boston, Massachusetts, serving as a Weekday Evening Anchor/Reporter. He co-anchors  NewsCenter 5 at 4:00, 6:00, 7:00, and 11:00 PM. Ed has been part of NewsCenter 5 for more than 25 years. He came to WCVB in 1988 as a weekend sports anchor and reporter. In 2000,  Ed took over as co-anchor of the EyeOpener newscast and added co-anchor of the 11 PM newscast in 2004. In January 2016, he aided launch WCVB’s NewsCenter 5 at 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM  when WCVB added those newscasts to its lineup.

Prior to joining WCVB, Ed served as principal sports anchor and sports director for WISH-TV, the CBS affiliate in Indianapolis. At WISH, he produced and anchored the 6 PM and 11 PM sportscasts, reported and co-produced the station’s annual ‘Indy 500’ special, and served as producer and host of The Colts Today, the NFL Indianapolis Colts coach’s show. For three years, he delivered live reports and color commentary for Colts games on WIBC Radio. Before joining WISH, Ed served as sports director and anchor for WDSU-TV in New Orleans from 1978 to 1981. He also served one year as assistant sports director and weekend anchor for KMSP-TV in Minneapolis. From 1975 to 1977, Ed served as sports director and anchor for WPTZ-TV in Plattsburgh, NY.

Ed is the recipient of countless awards including three Boston/New England Emmy honors for best Anchor-News and two first-place Massachusetts Broadcasters Association Sound Bites honors for On-Air Personality, among others. While in the Midwest, Ed earned two Indiana Associated Press awards and was voted Best TV Sportscaster by Indianapolis Magazine. A native of the Boston suburb of Newton, Ed is a graduate of Emerson College in Boston.
