In high school, Elizabeth really developed an interest in television, taping the morning announcements and thinking of creative ways to inform people what was going on but also to try to get a laugh.
She took her first television profession in Oak Hill, WV as a weekend “weather person” and reporter during the week. Elizabeth consistently tells people her first career was like graduate school for her. She learned so much about shooting, editing, and producing. Elizabeth eventually moved up North, taking a career at a station in Charleston, WV. where she stayed for nearly 8 years, working her way up the ladder until she was appointed as the main evening anchor.
While there she covered countless stories including the UBB mining disaster where 29 brave souls lost their lives. It’s a story she will at no time forget. She also worked as an anchor and reporter in Boston prior to going back home to Fox 8 in Cleveland as the 7 o’clock anchor. She is so happy to be home and to serve from there.
Since becoming a news reporter/anchor, Noreika has been honored with a few awards including Associated Press Reporter of the Year (2011, 2013), WVBA West Virginia Broadcaster Association Best Reporter, and Best Anchor (2014). In 2016, she was honored with an Emmy by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), Lower Great Lakes Chapter.
