He had previously worked at WINK-TV which is also based in Fort Myers where he served as a meteorologist. He began his TV career in 2001 working at KSTU Fox 13 based in Salt Lake City where he served as a weather forecaster and producer. In addition to that, he also worked at the Salt Lake City International Airport for the FAA where he took weather observations.
Moreover, Eric is also the owner of the AMS seal of approval since May 2009 while working at KSTU in Salt Lake City. He received the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) seal of approval in April 2014 from the American Meteorological Society. Since he began his career, he has enclosed quite a number of extreme weather events including hurricanes, snow storms, tornadoes, and so much more. He traveled to Joplin, Missouri, and Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to survey tornado damage when moving from Salt Lake City to Fort Myers. Moving to Florida has unlocked his passion for forecasting tropical weather.
In his free time, he loves to bowl and has bowled in many leagues and in tournaments. Additionally, he has also gotten into competitive pinball where he started at a local pinball club in Fort Myers called the Pinball Asylum. In addition to that, Eric won the North American championship in 2017 before competing in Denmark for the World Championship. He also traveled to many parts of the U.S. and finished fifth in the World Championship in Toronto, Canada. Stone also won the Open Pinball World Championship in Banning, California, in January 2020. In June of 2021, he achieved the No. 1 pinball rank in the world. he also love bike riding and going to the beach, soaking up this beautiful Florida weather.
