Prior to joining the FOX 16, team, he worked at WFOR in Miami where he served as an on-air meteorologist and assisted Floridians to weather a very active 2008 Hurricane Season. He has also worked at WVUE in New Orleans as a weekend meteorologist and in Portland, Oregon he worked at KOIN as the chief meteorologist. For 6 years, he worked in New Orleans where he gained experience with severe weather, and forecasting and covered the 2004 and 2005 hurricane seasons.

The New Orleans Press Club also awarded him the Best Weathercast in New Orleans twice. Upstate New York is his native home and he attended Cornell University in Ithaca, New York where he earned a degree in meteorology. In addition, Baskin started his career in Utica, New York where he served as a general assignment reporter and meteorologist. Whenever he can. he enjoys getting out into the community to educate people about the weather. During his sparer time, he enjoys doing anything that’s outside in the sun.
