While still at KOAT, Zevely was promoted to their main station in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he served the station as a reporter. Two years later, he began delivering the top stories at KOAT as a weekend morning anchor. While in Albuquerque Jeff met his future wife Heather Lucas former CBS News 8, reporter.

Zevely is now the full-time feature reporter at CBS News 8 following in the footsteps and legacy of the great Larry Himmel. He loves telling stories and he falls in love every day with every story. Every time he meets people he thinks to himself about how the day is special to them to tell their story and it’s his job to capture the facts, emotions, and spirit of their lives. It was a kind of dedication that led him back home to San Diego and CBS News 8.

When Zevely is not filled on Sports and Weather, he loves telling the stories of San Diegans with his own quirky style. He has surfed in his business suit, climbed stoplights, and jogged in minus ten-degree meat lockers all to bring the viewer something unique and unusual. Jeff enjoys spending time with his family. He also loves fishing, surfing, camping, and of course, volleyball.
