Kennedi interned at Good Morning America during the summer of 2018 and served directly under co-host Robin Roberts. While there, she became the 1st intern to host “GMA Wake Up Call,” which circulates live on the show’s Facebook page. At the end of the internship, Walker had a sit-down interview with Roberts examining her journey to the anchor desk, being the first black female co-anchor at ESPN, and more.
She graduated from the Manship School of Mass Communication at Louisiana State University. At LSU, Walker became the first African-American News Director on record for the university’s radio station, KLSU 91.1FM. She leads a team of reporters and hosts her radio show, “The Kennedi Show,” every Sunday from 5-6 pm. While there, she earned numerous awards for her storytelling.
In the summer of 2017, Kennedi served as the youngest intern at Louisiana’s number-one news station, WWL-TV. She worked with Sally-Ann Roberts and took part in a panel about teen gun violence. Walker credits her victory to God, her family, and everyone that has supported her along the way. She hopes to motivate everyone to pursue their dreams.
