Before joining KUSI-TV, Lauren worked in the Tampa, Florida market, where she anchored the evening news for ABC 7 WWSB-TV in Sarasota for 8 years from Apr 2010 to Mar 2018.
While at WWSB-TV, she covered medical breakthroughs and extensively covered the Gulf of Mexico oil spill and the 2012 presidential election. Lauren also spent four days anchoring live from the Republican National Convention in Tampa and was granted a one-on-one interview with President Obama. She also reported that Nik Wallenda, a Sarasota’s local daredevil, made history crossing Niagara Falls and the Grand Canyon on a high wire. The Florida Broadcasters Association honored Lauren with the 2012 Rising Star award.
Before WWSB, Lauren served as the evening anchor for WTXL in Tallahassee, Florida for 4 years and 10 months (Jul 2005 to Apr 2010), where her reporting received two Associated Press awards. While working in the state capital, she hosted a seven-day political segment and several specials including a one-hour show on the retirement of Bobby Bowden, a Florida State University head football coach.
Before moving to Florida, Lauren anchored for KCFW in Montana for 2 years from Jul 2003 to Jul 2005. Her experience there landed her an anchor role for “Montana Today” at KECI in Missoula. After a year, she earned runner-up for the state’s E.B. Craney Award, “Broadcaster of the Year.” Lauren has also been in Washington, D.C., and spent time reporting on the D.C. sniper attacks.
Outside of anchoring and reporting, Lauren is interested in health and children’s problems and has served on numerous nonprofit boards during her career. She also volunteers with Brides Against Breast Cancer, the American Cancer Society, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Lauren particularly loves it when her profession allows her adventurous side to come out. Some stories have guided her to experience ice diving, work on a ranch, and even skydive into a park to kick off a 9/11 tribute ceremony.
