Significant interviews include those with Queen Rania of Jordan; the former Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunals, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, South African human rights lawyer, and Louise Arbour and anti-apartheid activist George Bizos. At the New York Festivals Evans was a 2013 Gold Medal winner and for her coverage in Syria along with colleague Derek Stoffel she won an RTNDA Ron Laidlaw winner. For her work from Gaza, Syria, and Lebanon in the Dispatches program “The Paradox of Democracy” she was presented with an Amnesty International Canada Media Award in 2007.  From the University of Alberta, she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree, and from the City University of London, she holds a Masters’s degree.
