Over her job, Michelle has won Evening Magazine’s Best of the Northwest female news anchor award, the American Lung Association’s Outstanding Mother Award & the American Cancer Society’s volunteer award.
Her persistent work on behalf of cancer started after first being diagnosed in 2008 with thyroid cancer and then the following year with breast cancer. Michelle tells the most rewarding aspect of being in “the club” is supporting those newly diagnosed to navigate all those worries that come with such scary news. She loves giving back to countless cancer causes, especially to those who cannot afford treatment, but she also gets so much out of supporting Habitat for Humanity, Seattle Kid’s Hospital & animals, including volunteer work with salmon restoration.
